Fabrication Guides · 02/08How to roll CCO plate — pipes, cones and curved liners
- Roll with the overlay on the inside of the curve where the duty allows — this keeps the hardface in compression and avoids opening the relief cracks.
- With standard QCLAD™ plate, roll perpendicular to the weld beads. FLOWCLAD™ is non-directional and rolls in any direction.
- Minimum bending radius is approximately 75 mm for thin overlays and up to 1000 mm for thick combinations — consult QAME for your exact plate.
- Rolling with the overlay on the outside places the hardface in tension: surface relief cracks will open and should be capped with QARC™ wire if the duty requires.
- For pipe diameters below ~600 mm, specify QAME overlay pipe instead of rolled plate.
