Machining, drilling and grinding CCO

Overlay is not machinable by conventional tooling. Options:

• Surface grinding — abrasive disc or Blanchard grinding for flatness-critical faces.
• Holes — plasma or water jet through the full thickness; EDM for precision countersinks.
• Drilling — from the mild steel backing side only, and only through backing thickness.
• Machined features — weld in a pre-machined mild steel insert, or specify QAME machining before overlay.
